Tara Reid is accusing the producers of “Sharknado” of creating a killing off her face by licensing her picture for slot machines with out her permission, and now the actress is fishing for $100 million in damages.
On December 6, the actress sued Asylum Leisure and SYFY Media Productions, and in accordance with paperwork, accuses them of false endorsement and misappropriation of celeb likeness.
Reid believes the defendants wrongfully licensed the rights to make use of her likeness, which they don’t personal, to “producers of slot machines, playing merchandise and beer makers, who in flip have marketed their product along with her likeness, and proceed to wrongfully commerce and revenue therefrom.”
Reid explains she has starred in all of the “Sharknado” motion pictures since 2013 and every has been produced by Asylum Leisure and printed by SYFY Media. The actress claims they licensed her picture to a 3rd celebration with out her consent and made million in income off the gaming machines.
She claims her contract was very particular that her face couldn’t be utilized in “Sharknado” promotional materials if it associated to tobacco, playing, hygiene or sexual merchandise.
Reid is demanding a jackpot of at least $100 million in damages for the breaches of their deal and an injunction prohibiting from her face persevering with for use on the machines and merchandise.
