Florida State senior Phil Cofer will not be anticipated to play Thursday within the Seminoles’ Candy 16 matchup towards Gonzaga as he mourns the passing of his father, Sports activities Illustrated’s Jon Rothstein reported Monday.

“We’re going to respect Phil throughout this tragedy and the passing of his father,” Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton advised Rothstein. “He is aware of the place we’re and we all know the place he’s. We’re right here for him.”
Cofer was sitting out the Seminoles’ first-round win towards Vermont with a foot harm, and was alerted after the sport of his father’s passing in a telephone name from his mom.
Michael Cofer, who attended Tennessee and performed ten seasons within the NFL with the Detroit Lions, was 58 years outdated.
Florida State defeated Vermont, 76-69, after which defeated Murray State, 90-62, in a sport by which Cofer additionally didn’t play, to make the second weekend for the second-straight season.
Cofer has averaged 26.1 minutes per sport this season for the Seminoles, who will face the top-seeded Bulldogs on Thursday at 7:09 p.m.
