FAIR LAWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Authorities say a toddler struck by a police cruiser in northern New Jersey has died from his accidents.

The 12-year-old boy was strolling with another kids when he was struck shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday on Route 208 South in Honest Garden. The marked cruiser was pushed by Michael Sansevere, a Bergen County sheriff’s officer who was on patrol within the space.

The Honest Garden boy was pronounced useless shortly after the crash. His title hasn’t been launched.

Sansevere was taken to a hospital for analysis, nevertheless it wasn’t clear if he was harm within the accident. He has served with the sheriff’s workplace for about 10 years.

The reason for the accident stays underneath investigation.
